With the gaining
popularity of products such as the Suorin Air and Juul, more and more people are becoming
interested in one of the key elements in the juices used in these closed loop devices, nicotine salt. So we here at FogItUp decided to do some research on nicotine salts too see what makes it so special. As opposed to freebase nicotine which is used in most regular e-juice and is synthetically produced, nicotine salts are found naturally in tobacco leaves and are a more stable
compound. However, nicotine salts required more heat to be able to be inhaled
which made it less efficient, this was a major reasons why it was not
used in juices. Until now at least, companies have started to figure out that
by using additives like benzoic acid, they can lower the temperature at which
the nicotine salts can be inhaled at. So
then the question becomes why go through all this trouble to use nicotine
salts? The main reason is that nicotine salts allow an e-juice to have much
higher nicotine levels, in the 40-60 mg ranges, without the harsh throat hit.
So essentially a user would be able to inhale 50 mg nicotine without it feeling
like 50 mg nicotine. This is perfect for people who love high nicotine levels
or for people who are trying to quit smoking but don’t get enough nicotine from
regular juices which max go to 24mg. As a result, nicotine salt e-juices can serve as a great weaning off tool. Some
preliminary research also suggests that because users are taking in more
nicotine with each hit with salt juices, they end up having to use their devices
less frequently.
Another reason why
nicotine salts can be used now is because of the devices themselves.
Nicotine salt e-juices cannot be used in regular sub-ohm vape devices They
require closed loop devices like the Suorin Air which run at the appropriate low wattage required for that smooth hit. These devices also tend to be smaller and more compact than regular vape devices which makes them ideal for people apprehensive about carrying around the bulkier vape devices. Maybe the most important piece of information we gathered is that from the testing done so far on nicotine salts, they do not appear to be any more or less dangerous than freebase nicotine. With that being said it is important to keep in mind that nicotine salt juices are still very new to the market, and more research is being done every day. We encourage you to learn about and take part in this new and upcoming product which could potentially have a huge impact on the vaping industry. If you wish to try your own salt based juice there are companies offering nicotine salt juices online. However, they are often less established in the vape industry which makes them hard to trust. In order to save you time and money searching around for a credible salt juice, we tested a lot of the salt based juices we found online. The best and most reliable source we found so far was the salt line from Blowsauce.
We liked these guys so much that we decided to carry them in our store!
